On Saturday afternoon, Callie Knoernschild took the stage to perform with the WCMMEA All-District Honor Band. Callie and Isabel both auditioned for district band in November. This is a tough process with many students playing and competing for only a handful of spots in each section. “I am beyond proud of both girls for challenging themselves and following through on their auditions. Their hard work paid off,” Bates. “It was a beautiful concert put together by our district directors, students, and many UCM professors.”

From Mrs. Dove: "Perler beads (or melty beads) are small, plastic beads. You arrange them on a special pegboard to form a design. Then, using an iron and parchment paper, you melt the beads together. Freshman, Hunter Nguyen, came into the library after school many days and created this gorgeous wolf. The amazing thing is Hunter had never worked with Perler beads before! This project definitely took patience and perseverance! Way to go Hunter!" (1st pic before ironing, 2nd pic after ironing, 3rd pic Hunter and his wolf)

From Mrs. Fox: "The Sophomores traveled to LaMonte yesterday to attend round table discussions on programs offered at State Fair Community College Career and Technology Center. Later in January, Sophomores will travel to SFCC-CTC to visit the two programs they are most interested in. These visits help students plan for what courses they may want to take their junior and senior years."

Mr. Holbert has been a long term substitute this semester for Mrs. Bates. Mrs. Bates stopped by to watch HARMONY run through their performance. GR8 wants to thank Mr. Holbert for his continued love & support for GR8 and our students. He even let HARMONY silly string him!
