Ms. Schmidli had an engaging lesson on the importance of writing specific, clear directions when creating a "how to" writing. She had students write directions to make a stick person. Then, she tried to follow their directions! The results were humorous, but she made her point! One student had FABULOUS directions! He earned a prize!

1st grade had a visit from two members of the American Legion. These special guests shared their love of our country, provided historical information, taught our students proper flag etiquette, and even left flags for each student to take home! Thank you for spending time with our students, and thank you for your service!❤️🇺🇸

Mrs. Miller's 7th graders surprised her with an early birthday party today! One of the girls made a special red velvet cake, and another girl made cupcakes for the class. "I might have had watery eyes for a few minutes. I am so blessed to be in these children's lives."----Mrs. Miller

Mrs. Hammers passed out mirrors to elementary classrooms today to support phonological awareness activities. Mrs. Lamar's students were using their mirrors to help them see their mouth position in order to correctly pronounce letter sounds.

Congratulations to Lane Fox for being nominated and recognized for our outstanding senior student at this month’s Rotary Luncheon. Lane is a great role model for other GR8 students! Lane is involved in many activities including National Honor Society, math club, baseball, scholar bowl, archery, and a few others. His heaviest responsibilities are tied to FFA, where he serves as the GRHS FFA chapter president and as the Area 8 regional sentinel. Following graduation, Lane plans on attending the Missouri University of Science and Technology, where he will pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering. Following college, he would like to apply for an Aerospace Engineering job at NASA, SpaceX, or Boeing. We are all proud of Lane and his accomplishments so far, and will support him as he pursues higher goals in his life. Congratulations again Lane Fox!!!
